July 23, 2010...Decatur Memorial Hospital has been recognized for achievement in using evidence-based guidelines to provide the best possible care to patients through The American Heart Association/ American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines® program.
Decatur Memorial Hospital is featured in a special advertisement in the “America’s Best Hospitals” issue of US News & World Report (August issue) to commemorate the hospital’s receipt of Get With The Guidelines Silver 2010 Performance Achievement Award. DMH Nurses Take Course To Assist Victims Of Sexual Assult
DMH Emergency Care Center nurses have recently undergone training to become Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE’s).
Several registered nurses at DMH have undergone 40 hours of advanced education in forensic examination of sexual assault victims to become certified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners. These nurses work to provide medical, physical, emotional and evidentiary services to sexual assault victims who come to DMH for treatment. DMH is the first hospital in Macon County that provides this service to sexual assault victims. Read more...
Decatur Memorial Hospital, South Shores Imaging Center and Forsyth Imaging Center Receive American College of Radiology Accreditation
April 16, 2010...Decatur Memorial Hospital, South Shores Imaging Center and Forsyth Imaging Center have each been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in CT scanning as the result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
The ACR, headquartered in Reston, Va., awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of the practice. Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. Read more...

The total "Average Visit Time" is calculated from when a patient registers at the front desk to when the patient leaves the facility after being cared for. Calculations updated in real time based on the last three hours. "Patient Count" is the total number of patients at that facility right now.
